Garden Design Solutions (Adelaide) From Credible, Expert Landscape Designers.

Garden design typically falls under the professional responsibilities of a landscape designer. While there are people out there who call themselves garden designers, most will have basic horticultural knowledge at best, no builders licence because they don’t and can’t get involved with any of the actual construction or landscaping work and have no understanding of the practical consequences of what they draw, but they can draw up pretty pictures that may look impressive enough to pass for knowledge, to the unsuspecting client that is.

Garden design solutions Adelaide residents achieve come to fruition through a design process involving 3 steps.
The first step is a concept design session to get an understanding of what a client has in mind, their vision of the completed project. Who will be using the area? What different areas are required? What features or design elements are wished to be included? are examples of some of the questions asked during the first meeting with new clients when dealing with professional landscape designers Living Pictures By Tony Stanton.
During this meeting, a concept design sketch will be drawn up showing how the outdoor space could look after completion of all the landscaping work.

Once happy with the vision and comfortable with a budget to complete all the work, 2 types of plans are drawn up to scale.
A hardscape construction plan detailing all the physical man-made work that has to be completed with a breakdown of materials used then a softscape plan showing all the plants with location and number specified.

This step is where the difference between garden designers and landscape designers often parts way.
Many garden designers will just produce a picture, not to-scale-construction plans which landscapers and other trades can follow to turn the vision into reality. Many garden design solutions are ticked during this stage, which comes about from the more extensive knowledge and experience landscape designers have.

Lastly, while each step is an important part of the overall design process, handling the logistics by making sure all tradespeople are licensed and experienced enough to complete the work, dealing with landscapers on-site, and making sure that the plans are followed correctly, are the step most fraught with danger and needs to be handled by professional – licensed building supervisors to avoid costly mistakes and heartache.

Front Garden Design Solutions

Front Garden Problem Craigburn Farm

Front Garden Design Solution Craigburn Farm

The challenge posed by this Craigburn Farm block was its severe slope. The design solution to make the driveway work was to create a return drive above splits created with retaining walls at the front.

Front Garden Problem Kingswood

Front Garden Design Solution Kingswood

The front garden as we found it was unkept and in need of a major re-design. One of the design solutions was to create a formal front garden using a weeping Mulberry as its feature.

Front Garden Problem Victor Harbor

Front Garden Design Solution Victor Harbor

One of the most challenging gardens we’ve had the pleasure to work on from a size perspective, the vacant block next door was purchased by these clients and they wanted to have the front garden meet the backyard using a native Australian style. The landscape design solution provided a stunning picture with steps giving access to the side of the house.

Backyard Garden Design Solutions

Back Courtyard Garden Problem

Back Courtyard Garden Design Solution Glenelg

The challenge for this courtyard at Glenelg was to create a formal, yet peaceful place to relax with an attractive water feature. Starting with basically a blank slate, there were many design solutions. Needless to say, the retired couple at Glenelg were delighted with the outcome.

Back Garden Problem Vale Park

Back Garden Design Solution Vale Park

At the end of a new home build, the challenge for this backyard was to fit in so many features these clients at Vale Park wanted. The garden design solution was to create several different areas, different members of the family could use, with attractive paths to each.

Back Garden Problem Gilberton

Backyard Design Solution Gilberton

Clients at Gilberton had a two-storey house with their backyard backing on to the Torrens. After two different perspectives and sitting areas, one while immersed within the garden and one looking out from the house Alfresco. Using a natural garden style and conscious of hiding the back fence with foliage, the clients were rapped with the garden design solutions Tony came up with.

Back Garden Problem Panorama

Back Garden Design Solution Panorama

The problem this backyard posed was its very steep slope, finishing too close to the house. The additional challenge was a tight budget, which could have blown out due to the extensive earthworks required to give this family at Panorama more useable space for their children to play.

The many landscape design solutions Tony came up with when creating the landscape design were a resounding success and loved by the couple who appreciated what was cleverly accomplished on their tight budget.
